Two different ways of being counted
A loyalty card at a casino is not really a discount card. It is an instrument for measuring how much you played, and the measurement is what generates everything else. What makes the Queens venue a clear example is that its published membership rules describe two entirely separate capture mechanisms depending on where you are standing: at a machine you insert a card into a reader, and at a table you have to hand your card to the table games management so your play can be recorded at all. Same programme, same card, two different failure modes — and the second one only exists because dealers arrived in 2026.

Machines: insert the card yourself
The rules cover slot, video lottery terminal and electronic table game play together, and place the responsibility on the member to insert the card properly into the reader. Play not captured is play that did not happen, as far as the programme is concerned.
Tables: a person has to log you
For table games the published rule is that the member presents the card to table games management. There is no reader in the felt, which means being rated at a table is a social act rather than an automatic one.
Errors do not have to be honoured
The terms reserve the right to void or adjust play affected by loss of communication, system malfunction, operator error, misuse or fraud. That is standard drafting across the industry and it means the measurement is not a contractual guarantee.
Points are not money
The published terms state that points have no cash value, may not be exchanged for currency, and remain the property of the company. Treating an accumulated balance as savings misreads what it is.

Do I have to join to play?
Nothing in the published material says so. Membership is described as free for guests aged 21 and over presenting a valid government photo identification, and the counter has published opening hours of 9am to midnight Sunday to Thursday and 9am to 2am on Friday and Saturday. What joining does is start the measurement, which is a decision with privacy consequences as well as benefits.
What does the venue do with the record?
The published enrolment terms describe consent to collection, storage, use, transfer and disclosure of personal data by the company and its affiliates for business, operational, regulatory, promotional, marketing and responsible gaming purposes, including contact by mail, email, telephone, SMS and surveys. The FAQ separately states that promotional offers are based on individual gaming activity and history. Read those two together and the mechanism is plain: the record drives what you are sent.
Who is not allowed to join?
The published exclusions include employees, officers and agents of the company and its affiliates, employees of the New York State Gaming Commission and the state lottery division, gaming equipment manufacturers and service providers, people excluded by law or by a self-exclusion programme, and immediate family members living in the same household as an employee. The regulator-staff exclusion is the interesting one: it is there so that the people supervising the industry cannot hold a commercial relationship with it.
