One form, every licensed venue in the state
If you want to stop, the thing to understand first about New York is that exclusion here is not arranged building by building. Once a request is processed and shared with the state commission, the published position is that the person is excluded from every licensed gaming facility in New York State, not just the one where the form was signed. That design is deliberate: it is built to outlast the moment in which someone changes their mind. The rest of this page is what the venue publishes about how the process actually works, and where to reach help that has no commercial interest in the answer. It is drawn from the venue's responsible gaming page as retrieved on 25 August 2026; we have not been through the process ourselves and are reporting published text rather than experience.
What the published process involves
The helpline is on every page
The state helpline appears in the footer of every page of the operator's site: call 877-8-HOPENY or text HOPENY, which is 467369. It is a support line rather than a gambling service, and it is not run by the venue.
One year, three years or five
The person requesting exclusion chooses the length. The published routes are asking a security officer for an escort to the security office, telephoning that office for forms, or downloading the form and delivering it in person or by post with a notarised letter.
It becomes a statewide record
The request and the information submitted are shared with the New York State Gaming Commission, after which the published position is exclusion from every licensed gaming facility in the state. Identification and a photograph taken by a security officer are part of the submission.
Only you can put your own name down
The published rule is explicit that a family member cannot place another family member on the list; placement is voluntary and must be done by the person seeking it. The published consequences also include losing access to comps and promotions, and being unable to collect winnings during the exclusion.
